Introduction: Sikhism is a religion that originated in the Punjab region of South Asia in the late 15th century. Sikhism emphasizes the importance of living a truthful, honest and compassionate life while recognizing the need for selfless service and meditation. Gurudwara is a holy place for the followers of Sikhism.

Establishment of Sikhism: Sikhism was founded by Guru Nanak Dev Ji. He gave the message of equality, justice and devotion to one God.
Concept: At the core of Sikhism is the belief in the concept of Ik Onkar, which means "one God". Sikhs believe that there is only one Supreme Being who is formless and transcendental. Sikhs reject idol worship. They emphasize the importance of a personal relationship with God through prayer and meditation.
Guru Granth Sahib: The holy book of Sikhism "Guru Granth Sahib" is considered to be the eternal Guru. It serves as a guide for the Sikhs in their spiritual journey.

Symbols of Sikh Identity: One of the distinguishing features of Sikhism is the "Five K's", which are known as the symbols of Sikh identity. These include kesh (uncut hair), kangha (a wooden comb), kada (a steel bracelet), kachera (undergarment) and kirpan (a short sword).
Principles/Features of Sikhism: Sikhism promotes equality and social justice. In Sikhism individuals are treated with respect and dignity regardless of their caste, creed, gender or social status. Sikhs have a long history of standing up against injustice and oppression.
Gurudwara: The Gurudwara is the holiest place for the followers of Sikhism. Followers of Sikhism visit the Gurudwara for prayer. Langar is also served in the Gurudwara.
Conclusion: Sikhism is a pious religion that emphasizes devotion, equality and service. Sikhs have made important contributions to the society. He has played an important role in promoting social justice, fighting for human rights and upholding the principles of equality and liberty.
