Introduction: Khudiram Bose was one of the prominent freedom fighters of India. He was the youngest revolutionary to be hanged for his country. He played an important role in India's independence movement.

Place of birth and parents: Khudiram Bose was born on 3rd December 1889 in a small village Mohobani, District Midnapore, West Bengal, India. His father's name was Babu Trailokyanath Bose and mother's name was Lakshmipriya Devi.

Freedom Movement/Struggle: Khudiram Bose joined the freedom struggle at a very young age. He left his studies only after the 9th grade and jumped into the freedom movement to free his country from the oppression and rule of the British. After leaving school, he became a member of the Revolutionary Party. He also played an important role in distributing pamphlets of “Vande Mataram” during the freedom movement. He was always ready to serve the country.

Acquitted from sedition/treason charges: In February 1906, Khudiram Bose was distributing copies called 'Sonar Bangla' at an industrial and agricultural exhibition in Midnapore. While distributing the copies, a constable tried to catch him, but Khudiram Bose ran away after punching the constable in the face. After some time, he was arrested on charges of treason, but in the lack of witnesses, Khudiram Bose was acquitted as innocent.

Attack/assault on Kingsford: There was a magistrate named Douglas Kingsford, who was very infamous for humiliating and punishing the revolutionaries of India. Khudiram Bose was deeply saddened by Kingsford's tyranny, so Khudiram Bose planned to kill Kingsford. On 30 April 1908, Khudiram Bose threw a bomb at a vehicle coming towards Kingsford's bungalow. But Kingsford survived the attack because Kingsford was not on that vehicle, In fact, there were two European women on vehicle, both were killed in this attack.

Death:
Khudiram Bose had dedicated his life for the independence of India. He was captured and tried by the British for trying to kill Judge Kingsford and being active in the independence movement. Finally, on 11 August 1908, he was hanged in Muzaffarpur Jail. At the time when he was hanged, he was only 18 years old. The citizens of India will always be grateful to him for his sacrifice.
