1) Lachit Borphukan was a great warrior/leader/commander.
2) He was a general and borphukan of the Ahom kingdom.
3) He was born on 24th November 1622 in Charaideo, Assam.
4) His father's name was Momai Tamuli Borbarua.
5) His mother's name was Kundi Moran.
6) He had fought many battles against the Mughals in his life.
7) He is best known for his leadership in the Battle of Saraighat in 1671.
8) He was also victorious by defeating the Mughals in the Battle of Saraighat.
9) He was also successful in recapturing "Guwahati" from the possession of the Mughals.
10) He died on 25 April 1672.
