Introduction: Ambedkar Jayanti is celebrated every year on 14th April with great enthusiasm in India. Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar's birthday is celebrated as "Ambedkar Jayanti". He played an important role in getting the rights of equality and citizenship to the Dalits. Dr. Ambedkar is also called the father of the Indian Constitution. He was an Indian politician, economist and social reformer.

Why Ambedkar Jayanti is celebrated: Ambedkar Jayanti is celebrated every year because Dr. B.R. Ambedkar had dedicated/devoted his whole life in providing equal rights to the people of backward class or Dalit class people in India. He made a significant/valuable contribution in ending social inequality and caste system in India.

How Ambedkar Jayanti is celebrated: Ambedkar Jayanti is celebrated with great pomp in India. Cultural programs are organized in schools, colleges and offices to take Ambedkar's ideology to the people. Speech, general knowledge competition are organized in these programs. Tableaux and processions are organized on this day. On the auspicious occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti, there is also a one-day government holiday across India.

Purpose: The main objective/purpose of celebrating Ambedkar Jayanti is to make the citizens of India aware of equality and the path and principles mentioned by Dr. Ambedkar have to be taken to every citizen of the country. India has to be made a country where people live together with love without any discrimination.

Conclusion: Ambedkar Jayanti is celebrated to pay true tribute to Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar by remembering his good work. The Dalit or backward class considers Dr. Ambedkar as his ideal, because Ambedkar gave him the right to equality and the right to citizenship. Not only Dalit, every citizen of India considers Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar as his ideal and follows his path and principles.
