Lord Surya is worshipped with all these items. After this jaggery, sesame, tilkut, blanket, fruits, money etc. are also donated. After the puja, all the family members sit together and enjoy eating tilkut, laddu, curd chuda (dahi chura). On this day kites are also flown in many places.
