First of all, welcome to the honourable chief guest of the day, respected teachers, parents and my all dear friends. I wish you all a very Happy Independence Day. Today we are gathered here to celebrate this auspicious occasion of Independence Day on 15th of august. On this year, we will celebrate 76th years of Independence Day. As we all know that Independence Day is an auspicious occasion for all of us. We celebrate this day with great enthusiasm and joy because our country got independence from British rule on 15 August 1947 on this day. It is a great and most important day for all Indians.

This day is a very important day for all Indians because this day gives us an opportunity to remember the great freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives to give us a peaceful and beautiful life. Achieving independence from the British was a very impossible task for our ancestors, but our ancestors achieved it through constant efforts. We can never forget the work done by them and we will always remember them.

British ruled India for many years. India did not get independence because of one person. Many people fought for India's independence and some of the revolutionaries are named - Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Raj Guru, Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Lala Lajpat Rai, Chandra Shekhar Azad etc. The history of India tells everything about how our ancestors worked hard for the independence of India and faced all the cruel behavior of the British.

After independence, we got all our fundamental rights in our country and our motherland too. India now has one of the largest democratic countries in the world. Today, we have freedom of education, transport, sports, business etc. in almost all fields. All this was possible due to years of struggle of our ancestors. Independence Day is a national holiday in the country, although everyone celebrates it by hosting the flag in their places, schools, offices and society.

I feel so proud to be an Indian citizen. And on this day we all have to take an oath that by becoming a true citizen of the country, we will help the government in helping to free the country from corruption and will make the country a clean India (Swachh Bharat). It is our responsibility to lead our country ahead and make it a best country of the world.
