Chandrasekhar Azad
When Chandrashekhar Azad was only 15 years old, he had joined Mahatma Gandhiji's non-cooperation movement. At the age of 15 Chandrashekhar Azad was caught by British police for indulging in revolutionary activities and sentenced to 15 whipping. He was also involved in the 1925 Kakori train robbery. Mahatma Gandhiji gave a new name "Azad" to Chandrashekhar Tiwari and since then people started to know him by name Chandrashekhar Azad.
Chandrashekhar Azad and Bhagat Singh formally formed the Hindustan Socialist Republican Association (HSRA) in September 1928. He was active in protest of the brutal assassination of Lala Lajpat Rai in Lahore in 1928. Chandrashekhar Azad took a revenge for the assassination of Lala Lajpat Rai by killing a British soldier John Saunders who killed Lala Lajpat Rai. Chandrashekhar Azad's sole purpose was to make India independent. He had made a resolve in his life that he would never be caught and neither the British government would ever be able to hang him.

Azad passed away on February 27, 1931 in Alfred Park, Allahabad. After a long firing in the park, he shot himself with his last bullet and sacrificed his life for the motherland. Therefore, Chandrasekhar Azad is considered one of India's greatest freedom fighters and revolutionaries.
